Streamability
Also said as Watchable, Twitch-friendly, Clip-worthy
How much fun a game is to watch someone else play: whether it makes moments people would clip and share, and whether viewers can follow it.
Streamers can give you more attention than any ad budget, but they can also make a player feel they have already seen it. Linear story games have that problem. It is why games with surprise and other people in them travel so well.
Say it
“Add a streamer mode that hides lobby codes and removes licensed music, and make sure a viewer can tell from the screen who is winning. Our big moments need to read in a clip with no context.”
Where you’ve seen it
Among Us came out in 2018 and took off in 2020, once streamers started playing it together. Lethal Company spread the same way in 2023: friends failing together is funny to watch.
Not to be confused with virality
Virality means people spreading something. Streamability is one way that can happen, where watching makes you want to play.
