Fridge logic
Also said as Icebox scene, Plot hole you notice later
Something that seemed fine at the time, and only falls apart later, when you are at the fridge and have stopped to think. Alfred Hitchcock is credited with calling these icebox scenes.
Pace can hide a hole, which is useful, since some holes are too costly to fill. It only works in the moment, though, and players now take their theories online.
Say it
“This is fridge logic: nobody asks why the guards did not just lock the door while the building is on fire. Keep the scene moving at this pace, and don't stop to linger on the door.”
Not to be confused with plot hole
A plot hole can be spotted while it is happening. Fridge logic is specifically the kind you get away with until afterwards.
